Furniture and flooring technology specialist Välinge has invested in a new Homag profiling line for its R&D centre in Sweden, which is now being installed.
The new profiling machine arrived in Viken on 27 April and will enhance its capability to further prototype production in plastic products (such as LVT and SPC) and mineral cores.
“In these times where traveling is not an option, we did our first ever remote FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) together with Homag in Germany. It was a somewhat challenging process but on the whole, we are very happy with how it worked and with the good result,” said Niclas Håkansson, CEO of Välinge Innovation.
The new double end tenoner significantly improves its capacity to support its licensees and will be a great additional resource to further increase its capacity to develop new technologies and produce prototypes.
Niclas continued: “The flooring business is changing and with the newest trends in resilient materials, Välinge Innovation is adapting our business for us to continue to be on the top of our game. This investment is only one of many in recent years with this purpose.
“Our investment in the new Homag line keeps Välinge Innovation at the very top in flooring development and innovation. In addition to investing in machinery we are as always investing in R&D and further increasing our competence level to continue developing innovations for the flooring industry.
“We are trying to keep up business as usual which isn’t always easy in these hard times. At Välinge Innovation we constantly work on how we best can support our partners from afar and our team is ready to guide you in all kinds of activities, development projects, prototype production and training tutorials.”
