Poor market confidence impacts kitchens business

Bespoke kitchens business Harvey Jones has reported a decline in sales as well as a loss.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2019, total sales fell 7.7% to £18.6m from £20.1m in 2018.

Gross profit reduced from £9m to £8m, while its pre-tax profit of £159,000 recorded the previous year, slipped to a loss of £48,000.

Stated within its report, the company said that poor market confidence impacted sales, while steps have been taken to “correct internal issues”, including some changes to its management team.

“These actions and the strong order book were anticipated to improve performance in the year ahead,” the company added.
