Furniture retailer reports record Christmas as online channel surges
Independent furniture retailer Taskers has reported a slight decline in sales but did narrow losses.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 29 February 2020, total sales were down 3% to £15.9m from £16.4m in 2019.
Gross profit increased from £5.9m to £6.5m, while pre-tax losses narrowed from £974,000 to a loss of £383,000.
Stated within its report, the company said that its ecommerce business has grown 400% and that its Christmas 2020 period was a record high.
The business added it is forecasting profits in excess of £1.5m for the year ahead, which is “significantly ahead of budgeted figures”.
