Flooring manufacturer expects “full and strong” recovery post lockdowns

Interior floor coverings manufacturer Interface has reported a decline in both sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 29 December 2019, total sales fell 5.3% to £8.8m from £9.3m in 2018.

Gross profit was also down from £8.5m to £8.2m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £576,000, down by 32% from £851,000 the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said that the economic climate has been “like no other” following the Covid-19 pandemic, which disrupted business activities.

Interface added that it expects a “full and strong” recovery moving forward and has plans to introduce a wide range of new products with unique designs and advanced functionality.
