Digital tools drive web traffic at carpet retailer

Carpet retailer Tapi Carpets has reported an increase in second quarter sales as home improvement demand continues to benefit the business.

According to its latest trading update, sales rose by 30% in the second half of its financial year, with digital technologies proving very popular.

Tapi said that online quotes, video appointments and augmented reality saw web traffic jump 300% during the period, representing a 500% increase in customers coming from digital channels.

The retailer said that it expects to achieve full year sales in excess of £100m at this stage, adding that it remains “cautious” but “confident”.
