Carpet business remains confident despite Covid uncertainty

Carpet business Carpets4Less has reported a decline in sales as well as a loss.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 January 2020, total sales dipped 15% to £7.2m from £8.5m in 2019.

Gross profit reduced from £2.9m to £2.5m, while its pre-tax profit of £154,000 recorded the previous year, fell to a loss of £131,000.

Stated within its report, the company said that network sales for the group, including retail sales by its franchisees, totalled £12m – just slightly down from £12.1m, reflecting a more measurable comparison.

The group added that despite the impact of Covid-19, it continues to trade profitably during these uncertain times and expects a profitable year ahead.
